Time Capsule . - Day 5
Day 5 Wed. Aug. 21st 3:00 to 5:30 2 1/2 hrs 5 holes
We found the Time Capsule at 4:45 pm in front of the flag pole to the right side. 5 paces from the outer cement circle. Kim Baty, Ruth Pettine & Children, Monica & Kyle, Howard Weeden & Son Adam, Bruce Helstrom, Ron Decker & Sons Matthew & Travis, arriving right after we found it was Betsy Smith & Daughters Kayleigh & Mackenzie.
We spent 5 days 14 1/2 hrs digging 48 holes before finding the Time Capsule
We used 4 different kinds of metal detectors Valley Central’s, Ray Baty’s & (2) of Howard Weeden’s Bruce Helstrom enlarged the three small pictures Mrs. Toretta sent Kim into 8×10 glossy’s of the Time Capsule Scene Bruce took the pictures to the State Police Barracks to see if they could judge the distance of where it was located, but they were unable to.Kim made long distances calls to Mrs. Toretta in Florida and Mrs. Patton in Maryland trying to see if they remembered anything. And as our last resort we called in a Land Surveyor who happen to graduate with us, Howard Weeden. We almost gave up, but Ron convinced me (Kim) to have one last dig on the 21st, and I’m glad he did.
