20TH CLASS REUNION

FRIDAY NIGHT MIXER

August 23rd, 1996 - Friday Evening

Our 20th Class Reunion Friday Night Mixer was held on August 23rd, 1996 at the 7 Mile Inn on Route 17K, Coldenham, New York.

118 Classmates attended the mixer along with classmates from other classes.

Bobby Nichol’s the owner of the 7 Mile Inn provided the class with so much food, that we were able to use the rest at our picnic on Sunday.

A mini tornado was our only mishap of the evening, but the outdoor tent provided us with the shelter we needed until the rain ended.

The remainder of the evening turned out great, the highlight of the evening was a great game beach volleyball! After 20 years we can still play!

The Spirit of the Class of ’76 still lives!

Family picnic

August 25th, 1996 - Sunday Afternoon

Reunion picnic was held on Aug. 25th, 1996 at Castle Park in the town of Crawford. 193 people attended, which included classmates and their families. A family softball game was held, it was a lot of fun for all.

Ron Decker clocked Kim Baty Kosteczko as she ran for home, check out the photo for the proof.

Vic Polesel made a new time capsule, which was reburied at the high school after the picnic. Everyone returned to Valley Central High School after the picnic to see the new time capsule be reburied. Louie Estrada video taped the event, so in 20 years we won’t lose track of it again!. Classmates & their children were encouraged to put something in the new time capsule, which will be dug up again in 2016 at our 40th class reunion. Our children will be doing the digging at that time.

1974 Time Capsule

22 years have passed by since we were in tenth grade. Remember when we buried our time capsules with our Social Studies Teacher’s, Mrs. Joan Toretta and Ms.Elizabeth Aumueller? We thought it would be nice to find it for our 20th Reunion. Quess what ? We can’t find it! Mrs. Toretta said the map was at the school, but the school can’t find the map. Valley Central gave us permission to dig up the lawn around the flag pole. We borrowed their metal detector, in hopes it would help. Needless to say we have dug for Four days, 37 holes later, still no Time Capsule. Our last try will be Aug. 21st. Because this book is being printed before our last dig, you’ll have to wait and see what we did or did not find, or who came back to help. Do any of you remember where we buried the Time Capsule? Or what was in it? We are going to bury another one? So bring something, by Sunday’s picnic and we’ll dig it up for our 30th or 40th Reunion!
